![]() A GE Hotpoint Electric Range - You Can't Go Astray With One Of TheseThe Hotpoint electric range is a classic appliance. Heck, my granny still has her stove-top from the 1960s in her small cabin by the lake and it still works beautifully. But, General Electric is well known for providing some of the most solid kitchen appliances in the marketplace, and their Hot Point models are no exception.I've encountered quite a few bad brands in my days working as a salesperson at a local appliance store, and I could always confirm the quality of GE merchandise. There are a couple of other solid brands out there, but GE just creates some classic workhorses. We actually had quite a few of those fancy European (and especially Italian) models in our store, and they definitely had certain aesthetic qualities - they're beautiful little things, honestly - but we would get them back time and time again with a multitude of problems. This was really a pain because the parts were so much more costly. While the initial commissions on appliances like that were higher, and they were nice looking machines at first glance, I soon found that it wasn't worth selling them. It not only cost the shop money (which I became a partial investor in after a couple of years) because of the greater amount of repairs we were forced to do on the machines, but it also hurt my sales in the long run. People get upset when you sell them things that break. Even if you did not know about the quality problems, and ready to fix the problem ASAP, it still was quite a bit of time out of someone's day. From all of my experience, I can assure you that GE creates some great appliances, and their electric ranges particularly stood out. Not only to do they keep up to date with all of the new (and now seemingly necessary features), but they are much less likely to break. Fewer and fewer companies create quality products, and the Hotpoint electric ranges are still the workhorses that they have always been. Honestly, if you're actually using your kitchen appliances, there is no cause to simply go for anything that looks good. Opt for something that works to combine style and function. And be certain it is a good item. From my experiences, you can't go wrong with a GE Hotpoint range.
