This original experiment started over a decade ago, and it was reported that the original test subjects actually maintained those successful results for 4 years after the trial had finished. The 1mg of finasteride was marketed under the brand name, Propecia. A further result of ingesting propecia, is that it affects the levels of testosterone in the body, and therefore is available only on prescription. The advice of a physician should be requested and the recommended dosage followed explicitly. Hormonal balances can be fragile and following a regular dosage helps to ensure stability. The shedding of hair may not be a sign that you should begin taking the hair loss pill straight away. There is a natural three phase process of hair loss and regeneration that sometimes, can be literally shocked into a premature shedding stage. This seemingly spontaneous shedding, also called Telegen Effluvium, is not a permanent condition and usually leads to replacement hair growth. Propecia treatment is an extremely gradual process and requires patience on the part of the user. One should not expect results for about three months, with common regrowth not appearing until the 8th month. Maximum results do not show until at least a year after commencement of the treatment.
